A community interest company
The “credit crunch” is driving more people to expensive door step lenders whose interest rates are often 185% APR or more, compared to our rates of from 12.68% to 26.8% APR. High interest rates are unacceptable and we want to offer the people of Norfolk an alternative low cost small loans service and promote the benefits of savings, no matter how small. Money saved in the community is recycled into loans, and nothing is lost to outside remote interests. All profits are returned to the members as a dividend.
To encourage the habit of saving from early years, the Credit Union has the Bee Savers Club for up children to 16 years. Local schools will be encouraged to set up Bee Saver Club branches.
Special Lock-in-Accounts are also available for members to save for Christmas, holidays or other special occasions, to safeguard money until just before it is needed.
We urge people living or working in the Fakenham area to join now and prepare before the long term effects of the ‘credit crunch’ are felt.”
